Panasonic KX-TG8231B DECT 6.0 Cordlesss phone System Review

Panasonic KX-TG8231B DECT 6.0 Cordlesss phone System with an All Digital Answering SystemPros:
- Great range. Much better than the 5.8Ghz uniden it replaced.
- Very good clarity of voices during a call. No interference at all.
- Great battery life. First charge lasted 5 days of use before returning it to charge in base (home use, not office).
- Flexibility of batteries. It uses two standard AAA size Ni-Mh rechargeable batteries, which you can replace later for another brand or ones with even more capacity. Or you can have another set ready for use.
- You can group people in the directory and set an specific ring tone and display color for each group.
- Caller ID links the number calling to your phonebook names and displays both number and name calling. The uniden was suppossed to do this but never did.
- Good looking piano finish.
- Compact handset and base.
- Great looking color screen.

Cons:
- Very low customization. You can only select between 3 wallpapers. You can't add new ones. Few color options for setting the menu's colors. Those were a strong feature of the uniden.
- Only 50 number phonebook memory.
- Could add another volume bar. Volume is not low, but could have another bar for people that likes very high volume calls like me. Volume on speaker mode is great.
- ID caller takes like two rings before it displays the name calling.
- Only 18 min record time for answering system.

This is a great phone overall. It exceeds all the basic functions you expect for the dect frequency and panasonic (range, clarity, battery life). But I would rate it 5 stars if you can really customize it by adding your own wallpapers and ring tones. Also it would not hurt to have more memory for the answering machine and the phonebook.

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Expandable Titanium Digital Cordless Answering System Review

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Expandable Titanium Digital Cordless Answering System - 3 Handset SystemAfter reading numerous reviews (on Amazon and other web sites) about this and many other DECT cordless phones, I ordered this system.This system is used by me and my wife.A primary consideration is that we use Vonage, which is a voice over internet protocol service provider.As a result, we needed one base unit that could be connected to the Vonage telephone modem and then have additional phones that do not require to be plugged into a phone jack.This system fit the bill.We recently moved into a three level New England home (four if you include the basement); we have used this phone system for three weeks as of this writing, and we have placed and received numerous phone calls; the base unit and one other unit are located on the second level; the third unit is located on the first level; we receive clear reliable reception on every level (including the basement) and outside in the front and back lawns.I have used the hand-free speaker option several times on each phone -- it works as advertised.The "night mode" has already come in very handy.After receiving a phone call late one night, I turned on the night mode feature -- again, it works as advertised (yes, I received another late night call, which was identified on the "missed caller" list because the phone in our bedroom did not ring).The "talking caller ID" also works fine.Sure, the voice sounds like a computer and not a real person, but that's what it is.The system identifies who is calling if that person has been added to your phone book, and that's what I expected.I tested just about every feature and this system is everything I expected -- a very good cordless DECT system.Over the past 15 years we have owned several different cordless phones (Sony, GE, Uniden, VTech and others) -- this Panasonic is definitely one of the best we've owned.We are very satisfied with our purchase and would recommend this system to our friends and family.

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Phone Review

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Phone - 3 Handset SystemWe've always had Uniden cordless phones but once we went to a wireless DSL, the static and interference has been a non-stop annoyance. We read good reviews about this Panasonic phone and decided to get it. We were not disappointed. Clear connections, no static ever, easy to set-up and lots of features. I especially like the speakerphone feature.Great phone!By the way, I shopped it around on the internet and found that Amazon had the lowest price, and, of course free shipping.

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Phone - Dual Handset SystemThis is a good basic cordless phone for home use.Voice quality is very good, no static at all, even in an apartment full of wireless junk.The batteries are standard Ni-MH AAAs, so they should be easier and cheaper to replace when the go bad.The shared phonebook memory and distinctive rings for different callers are useful features.Recommended.

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Answering System Review

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Answering System - Dual Handset SystemThe Panasonic 6.0 system is very well built.The number keys are lit and the LCD display is very bright.Great for individuals who have eye sight problems.The phones are slightly larger than usual models but the bigger handsets make it easier to hold.

The only thing I did not like about the product, the VM machine is very basic and lacks a digital number counter to tell you how many VMs you have on the machine - past or present.All you get is a blinking indicator and not a number display.

Overall, there are several other unquie features on the unit such as night time "do not call features", custom ring tones based on Caller ID numbers, etc.This is a good price on Amazon compared to Circuit City, Best Buy, or Fry's Electronics.Amazon is $29 less than everybody else.

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Answering System - Single Handset SystemIf you use lot of speakerphone, this is the one you want to have. Clear and loud speaker on both base and handset. I especially like this one with dial pad and speaker on the base and it is easier to use than the handset. I had several cordless phone prior to this one and this is the best.

AT&T DECT 6.0 Black/Silver Digital 3-Handset Cordless Telephone Review

AT&T DECT 6.0 Black/Silver Digital 3-Handset Cordless TelephoneFinally a phone that works and isn't a P.O.S. I had an expensive Panasonic ($125) single cordless phone with no answering machine. Can't hear anything on the Panasonic phone and they said it needs to be unplugged and plugged in when it does this - to reboot it. Needed to be rebooted a few times a day - now it's in the garbage where it belongs. We also had Uniden phones (5 of them) - all very poor quality and noisy with poor range.

This AT&T phone has a great range with excellent sound. No noise! Easy to program. Only need to program one phone - all the handsets will then see your directory entries.No need to program each separately. These were so great that I bought a 3 phone expansion pack: 3 more handsets. I also bout a great headset that works on the DECT 6.0 1.9GHz instead of bluetooth. That means it has great range.

We have AT&T voicemail - so we didn't need or want an answering machine. A Voicemail button would have been nice, but we just put it in as an entry in the directory.

Another big plus is the ability to talk on multiple handsets at the same time. My other cordless phones couldn't do this (just one conversation between the base and one handset at a time). Now I can pick up the phone and when it's for someone else - they can pick it up before I hang up. And we can both talk to someone on two handsets at the same time. I think it supports 4 handsets simultaneously...

here's the headset that works with this:

Panasonic KX-TCA60 Hands-Free Headset Review

Panasonic KX-TCA60 Hands-Free Headset with Comfort Fit Headband For The Panasonic KX-TG1033S Dect 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Phone SystemI got this headset for my Panasonic cordless phones. The mic boom is longer than it is on many other headsets - an advantage. Earphone volume is no problem, and voice quality (what I hear on my end) is actually better than it is through the phone. Comfort is, to me, not great. However, I always modify headphones to reduce pressure and increase padding, as I am very particular about head and ear comfort. In this case, I found the rubber pad on the far end of the headband to be hard; I added a soft pad, and now have acceptable comfort. Anyway, this is a high-quality headset, one I recommend.

Panasonic KX-TG9391T DECT 6.0 2-Line Black Corded Cordless Phone System Review

Panasonic KX-TG9391T DECT 6.0 2-Line Black Corded Cordless Phone System With 4 HandsetsI purchased the KX-TG9391 base unit, which comes with 1 handheld. In addition 5 more satellites KT-TGA939 were purchased, 6 satellites total. These were installed in a 6,000 square foot, 3 story building. The base unit was in the main office on the lowest floors and the satellites were placed in various rooms throughout the building on all three floors.

Prior to this purchase, my partner and I were using a Radio Shack similar system, but with the 5.8 GHz format. The Radio Shack system had all the features we needed, but there was about 20% of the building where the Radio Shack system had neither the range nor ability to cancel noise, so my partner and I were constantly walking to a better reception area so we could understand one another.

We heard the 6.0 GHz systems had at least twice the range of the 5.9 GHz, so we thought we would give it a try.

WHAT THIS PANASONIC SYSTEM DID RIGHT:
1. The superior range and noise canceling ability on this system allows for clear conversation all over the building. We no longer have to walk into better reception areas
2. The caller ID works well
3. On the base unit the phonebook holds 100 names and is easy to use. There is one button you push to go to phone book. You don't even have to lift the receiver. Just touch the letter key of the first letter of the person's name you want to talk to; say "G" for Gary. Scroll down the Gs to Gary. When you lift the handset, the system dials Gary.
4. You can program different ring tones for different people.
5. Customer Service is available and helpful. I felt sorry for them because there were so many issues with this phone system that they had to say over and over, "Sorry, what you are saying makes sense, but the system can't do that. We'll report it, and maybe the next model will be better."

WHERE THIS SYSTEM REALLY SCREWED UP:
1. There is an intercom where you can page any satellite from either the base unit or a satellite. BUT, while you can page all the satellites from the base unit by hitting "INTERCOM" and "0", you can NOT page all the satellites from a satellite; only one at a time. THIS IS SO ANNOYING! If you are on a satellite and don't know where the other person is, you have to try one satellite, then another, then another. Like the joke, "You will always reach your party on the last one you try." Usually it takes 3 to 4 tries. (The Radio Shack unit allowed you to page all at once; when your party picked up, it would tell you where they were.)
2. On the base unit you can put your phone book numbers in Groups where each Group has a different ring tone. So you program your 100 numbers into their appropriate Groups and the system lets you "Copy All" into the satellites; BUT when it copies them into the satellites, it copies ALL YOUR NAMES into the satellite's Group 1. Panasonic's customer service checked and said in order to have the phone book names in their respective groups on each satellite, I would have to copy each name into each satellite. Do the math, 100 names into 6 satellites, i.e., makes 600 entries you have to program!!!
3. We use 2 lines. Line 1 is incoming and the number we give for people to call us on. Line 2 is the toll free line where we make outbound calls. You can program the system to automatically select line 2 when you pick up the phone to call, BUT if you do, the system always selects Line 2 to answer. So when a call comes in on Line 1 and you pick up the phone, nothing happens. It just keeps ringing! Now that can be frustrating! If, on the other hand, you select "Auto Answer," it picks up whatever line is ringing, but it always defaults to calling out on Line 1, so we pay a toll. Again PANASONIC'S CS said they messed up because there is no way you can call out on Line 2 and have it answer from whichever line the incoming call is on.
4. One of their big selling features is that you can put your phone book names into 9 Groups and each group can have its own ring tone. Well, guess again, there are only 7 allowable ring tones!! You have to pick which 4 Groups to share 2 common ring tones.
5. Very NON-intuitive to program. I am an electrical engineer with phone experience, and it frustrated me.

SUMMARY:
They got the hard things right, like range and clarity, but they so screwed up those easy things that would make the system useful that I can only rate it a 2 star out of 5. BTW, the Radio Shack system, which cost only about half as much, was really well thought out and allowed you to easily do all the chores you need.

Panasonic KX-TG820B DECT 6.0 Cordlesss phone Handset Review

Panasonic KX-TG820B DECT 6.0 Cordlesss phone Handset for Panasonic KX-TG8231/32BThis phone is very small, and looks great in any room. However, it is so small, that I find that my old phone was more comfortable to talk on.
The range of this phone is great, and sound quality blows my 5.8GHz panasonic phone away.

The backlit keys are great for bedroom use, when you don't want to turn on the light to make a phone call. The phone works with any of the Panasonic DECT6.0 phone systems, my base is a 1034S.

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Answering System Review

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Answering System - 4 Handset SystemThe battle between WiFi and wireless telephones.

We had a mixture of 2.4 gigahertz phones for years that coexisted peacefully with our old wireless G router. Well, the router died and we needed a new one. The newest technology for wireless is "N" with Mimo Technology, which supports both N and G wireless networks. So, of course we buy. After all, now is the future, right?

Mimo WiFi uses several different radio frequency channels (in the 2.4 gigahertz range for G networks) at the same time to assure an optimal radio signal to your WiFi laptops (in our case, G). This works great for the WiFi network, BUT......every time our telephones rang...Poof, the WiFi Signal got scrambled and we lost the network. We tried setting different channels on the phones and the router, nothing worked.

So being in the market for a major upgrade with our now antiquated phone system, we bought this Dect. 6.0 system that uses the 1.9 gigahertz frequency.

First of all..no interference in the WiFi network....NONE!

There are also a few features that I like.

We can now communicate and transfer calls with each other over 5 acres of land with complete security.

Talking Caller ID enables me to save a few steps and decide if I want to answer the call.

Since Vonage (my phone service) does not have specific call block, this phone can block certain pesky incoming calls and give the abusive callers a busy signal to listen to. This is a great feature and the only way Panasonic could improve on it, is to give us a choice between the busy signal or tones that indicate that the phone has been disconnected.

I can't say anything about the voice mail except that you can turn it off quite easily. We use the Vonage voice mail and are quite happy with it.

We are easily adding to the phone book as calls are coming in. I think it is a bit of a hassle to add them in manually.

Different ring tones are nice, and sound pretty. All of us have set up different ring tones and it is quite a symphony in the house when all the phones play their distinct melodies.

Each phone has a speaker phone and my friends can't tell I am using it.

Only the main base need to be plugged into a backup power supply if you want to do that.

All in all, I am very satisfied and am going to add 2 more phones to my 4 phone system.

Uniden DECT 6.0 Digital Cordless Phone Review

Uniden DECT 6.0 Digital Cordless Phone with Digital Answering System and Two Extra HandsetsI recently purchased a Uniden Dect 6.0 Cordless phone set with a digital answering machine, Caller ID and two extra handsets for only $31!No, that's not a typo.With Amazon's Super Saver Free Delivery and an in-house discount of $30 (check with Amazon to see if the product you choose qualifies), $31 was all I had to pay!I choose the Uniden brand because that's what I had before and it lasted a long, long time plus, I could be at least 100 yards away from the base and still get a phone signal (dial tone), and that was with only 947 MgHz of power!

What I like most about the phone I bought with the extra handsets (1580-3) is that I can put the handsets in key areas that suit me since I can't get around very fast to answer the phone.The reception is very clear on all the handsets and the voice recorder is also very clear.One of the neat features of the phone is that you can set a different ring tone for each handset.I'malso able to transfer calls between handsets and the speaker phone is in the handsets!The set-up is very easy and the function keys are fairly simple, not complicated at all.

I called around for months looking for a good deal on a new cordless phone, even checking with Best Buy and Fry's Electronics and absolutely NO ONE could get even close to the deal I got purchasing my set through Amazon.Thus far, I am very happy with all the products I have purchased through Amazon.Uniden DECT 6.0 Cordless Digital Answering System with Caller ID and 2 Extra Handsets and Charging Cradles

AT&T DECT 6.0 Black/Silver Digital Dual Handset Cordless Telephone (CL81209) Review

AT&T DECT 6.0 Black/Silver Digital Dual Handset Cordless TelephoneWe got this phone specifically because we needed an expandable system that didn't have an answering machine.Voice mail is included in our phone company bundle, so we were unwilling to pay the extra cost for an answering machine.This phone is very easy to work with, very intuitive both in terms of operation and menu access.The phone feel very solid, though we've only had it for two weeks now.But after trying V-Tech, GE and UNIDEN, this seems to be the most physically resilient of them all.

But the #1 feature of this phone - the clarity.With both 2.4 and 5.8 GHz phones, we had a lot of interference and a lot of static.With this phone, I can walk to any part of the house - even a few houses down, and still hear just as well as if I were talking on a wired phone.

I can recommend this system whole-heartedly - ignore the 3-star review of this product, as it specifically states the reason for the 3 stars is the lack of an answering system.As mentioned above, that's the very reason I bought this phone.AT&T makes another model WITH and answering system, so if that's what you need, get that one.But if, like me, you have no use for it, you will be very happy with this phone.

AT&T DECT 6.0 Black/Silver Digital 4-Handset Answering System (CL82409) Review

AT&T DECT 6.0 Black/Silver Digital 4-Handset Answering SystemWhen researching our next cordless, expandable phone system, I found that AT&T and Panasonic phones were getting the best reviews. My requirements were as follows:

1.Phone system must not interfere with my wireless network;
2.Phone base must be wall mountable;
3.Phone base must have an answering machine that would also provide an audible message alert (and a message count would also be nice);
4.Speakerphone on the handsets and base;
5.A shared, central phone book.
6.A Voicemail indicator (for phone company/VOIP voicemail);
7.A lighted number pad.

I spend about 3 weeks researching over 30 models and browsing manuals.I originally was going for a 5.8GhZ AT&T model (#E5924) that I later found was also operating on a 2.4GhZ frequency that may have interfered with my wireless network, as my current 2.4GhZ cordless does (it slightly impairs my wireless network speed).So, I scratched that model, and all the 5.8GhZ category, and decided to find a Dect 6.0 just to avoid any potential problems.

Very feature-rich were nearly all of the Panasonic models, with Talking Caller ID and ringer ID.But, how they can advertise as wall-mountable I don't know.I checked the manuals for the models I was most interested in, and every single model mounted like a shelf. Very unappealing.And none had an audible message alert.Panasonic phones mostly have a blinking light to inform you of messages.I had an older Panasonic model years ago and always missed messages because of the lack of an audible alert.This combined with the ugly wall-mounting made me have to scratch Panasonic off of my list.Shame, because I really liked the features (Talking Caller ID, Ringer ID, Light ID, Caller ID Block).

I found many reviews touting the AT&T SL82418 Dect 6.0 system.Apparently Consumer Reports had highly rated this model and everyone ran out to buy it.It's wall-mountability was acceptable (still not flat on the wall, but not overly extending like the shelf-like Panasonics). It's features satisfied all of my requirements (though it did not have the bells and whistles of the Panasonics, which I still had on my mind).But -- and this may seem silly -- I found the phone system itself ugly.Silver and gray with black backs.Way too much going on.

Instead of looking new, to me they looked gaudy and old-fashioned.The phones themselves looked sleek and stream-lined, but AT&T's choice of using more than 1 color on the front just ruined it (in my opinion).Amazon informed me there was a newer model out, the CL82409, which was far more attractive to me.Simple silver handsets with black backs.Base is simple silver and black also.LCD screens and back light is orangey instead of blue.I was put off by the lack of reviews on the newer model, but when I checked the manuals, found very little difference between it and the previous SL82418 model, except:

1.No headset jack;
2.You CAN check the ans. machine messages from the handsets (cannot do this on the SL82418.
3.The base does not mount as flat and is a little shorter/more compact.

So, I canceled my order for the SL82518 (a five handset system instead of 4 handsets) and placed an order for the CL82509 system. Set up was simple (after 16 hour charging).

Pros:

*I use Vonage (disconnected the incoming Telco lines and have Vonageback-fed through every phone jack in the house) and the sound is crystal clear with these phones.

*You can check the caller id log when the phone is in use (not all phone systems allow this), and the display shows the time and date always (also a rarity).

*You can listen to the answering machine messages from any handset even when the phone is in use.

*The numbers are etched through the silver on the handset buttons, and the amber light shines through them clearly.Nice for nighttime dialing;

*No interference from the microwave, or network, and all phones crystal clear from the basement to the 2nd floor.

*Very easy to save caller id entries into the shared phone book.Saves the last 50 caller id entries and 50 phone book entries.

*I have the answering machine set to 4 rings, and if I don't answer the caller ID or the phone is busy, my Vonage voice mail will take the
message, after which the Voicemail LCD lights up on the base and there is an indicator on the handset LCD.

*When the answering machine takes a message, there is an audible beep every so often that reminds you of the message (you can disable the audible alert if this bothers you -- again, I find this useful and necessary) and the base will show you how many messages you have.

*Easy to do a three-way call using the flash button.

*Intercom is easy.

*Handset speakers are nice and clear with good volume;

*Handset ringers are nice and loud;

*This system is expandable up to 12 handsets, and the handsets themselves are decently priced.

Cons:

*No headset jack;

*No speakerphone in base (can only hear answering machine messages -- not phone calls);

*Wall-mounting is not flat to the wall, extends approximately 4 inches at the bottom.Not a big deal if you have it mounted where no one will walk into it.

*Can not assign ring tones to names in your directory. Even my old Radio Shack did that.I could almost stop thinking about the Panasonics' Talking Caller ID if I were at least able to assign ring tones to certain names so I'd know who it was calling by the ring tone.

*Handsets feel light to me.That may be a Pro in time but still have to get used to it.

All-in-all, minor quibbles. I would recommend this system, unless you don't care about the audible message alert and/or wall mounting, in which case I'd try a Panasonic for the neat features (Talking Caller ID, etc.).

Whatever you decide, make sure you Google the manual before buying.I found many websites gave either incorrect information regarding features or left out key features entirely.

AT&T DECT 6.0 White/Grey Digital Dual Handset Cordless Telephone Review

AT&T DECT 6.0 White/Grey Digital Dual Handset Cordless TelephonePeople have told me that there is feedback when I put them on speaker.As a result I find myself wanting a headset option.There are some minor software problems, such as the caller id is stored without the leading 1-, so if you try to call the number back (how convenient!) it will fail :(.Also super lame imho is if you are using the "phone" and press the "speaker" button (or vice-versa) it thinks you are trying to conference in a new call rather than that you simply want to switch between handset mode and speaker-phone mode.

AT&T DECT 6.0 Black/Silver Digital 3-Handset Answering System (CL82309) Review

AT&T DECT 6.0 Black/Silver Digital 3-Handset Answering SystemAmazon is presenting this as the "newer model" of the the AT&T SL82318 DECT 6.0 phone. It has most of the same features -- high quality, clear, crisp sound, very good range, clear display, reasonably simple number storage and auto-dial-- but it does NOT have a jack for a headset, which the earlier model did. So if that feature is important to you, this is not the phone you want. (And no, the old model handset is not interchangeable with the new ones. It would be great if AT&T offered a compatible single-phone expansion set for this series with a headset jack.) Another minor annoyance is that although the phone hangs up when you put it in the charging cradle, it does not automatically turn on if it's ringing and you remove it from the cradle; you have to push a button. But overall a very good phone.

Panasonic 2-Line DECT 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Answering System Review

Panasonic 2-Line DECT 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Answering SystemI am very pleased with this product.It was very easy to setup, in fact it only took about 30 minutes and that included transferring my cell phone book.The phone seems to work great with my bluetooth headset with minimal interference.I had a AT&T bluetooth phone prior and though my listeners could hear me, I had significant interference and static.This phone does not have bluetooth on the handset only with the base, a slight drawback but not enough to be disappointed.The menu setup was easy and not too complicated with too many options to manage.The manual is needed to clarify what each item does but in general, it was easy to read.I am using it as a 2 line phone in a home office and the speaker on the base is clear and easy to use.The handset speaker is not quite as strong as others I have used but that's not too big a deal since I mostly use the base for speakerphone.Plus, the bluetooth is the real benefit.I like that you can use your voicemail service or the base unit and it can be optional on either line.

Panasonic DECT 6.0 Expandable Cordless Telephone Review

Panasonic DECT 6.0 Expandable Cordless Telephone with 3 HandsetsWhen shopping for a phone system, I was looking for many specific features: one base with multiple cordless headsets, call conference ability, intercom, lighted display/keypad, speakerphone on each handset, and headset jack. I've discovered that most phones that have these features usually have a built-in answering machine, which I didn't need. If I wanted a phone system without an answering machine, I was disappointed to find that I would have to sacrifice some of the features I wanted.

Then I found this phone system, and after some consideration, purchased it. Having used the phone system for a month now, I have been very pleased with its performance, not to mention all the features I've been looking for but without the answering machine.

Calls are clear from any place in the house and outside in our yard, the intercom system has come in very handy in our two-story house (no more yelling our daugther's name to get her to come downstairs), and the batteries seem to last a long time. I work from home, and am on the phone a number of hours per day, using an attached headset (which is not included in this system). Speakerphones, found on each handset, are loud and clear.

Other features that have proven very useful are the "global" address book (add a name/phone number on one handset and it will show up on the others), and the "quiet time" setting (handset will not ring during specified hours of the day).

I am very satisfied with this phone system, and highly recommend it. In fact, we are about to purchase an additional handset to expand it even further!

Panasonic Additional Handset Review

Panasonic Additional HandsetGOOD:Sound quality, range, appears to completely surpress interferrence.Uses rechargeable AA batteries that are easy and inexpensive to replace (thank you Panasonic).Can individually program each handset to auto-answer when picked up from the recharge cradle.

BAD:Display and TALK/OFF buttons text fonts too small to read without glasses (not great for older eyes).Not so much a problem once you get used to the phone and know which buttons are which.Display backlight goes out after about 2 seconds, apparently can't be programmed to stay on longer.Press any button and it comes back on, but that doesn't help you find the button you wanted.Other keys are not back-lit at all; tough to dial in the dark.Handsets hang up when placed back in the recharge cradle--that's mostly okay, but if using speaker phone for a long call, it would be nice to allow phone to keep charging in the cradle yet remain connected.Apparently that's not one of the programmable options.

WISH FOR: Color code TALK (green) and OFF (red) buttons.More than 6 handsets (current system limitation).Corded handwet for base unit, to allow 6 cordless handsets AND make base unit operatational during power failures.

OVERALL:Better quality than the competition.Uniden has better display contrast and corded base-unit handset on some systems, but lacks Panasonic's sound quality and range.Panasonic beats VTech for sound and build quality, VTech batteries hard to find and expensive to replace.

Panasonic 2-Line DECT 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Answering System Review

Panasonic 2-Line DECT 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Answering System with 2 HandsetsI upgraded this phone system from an earlier Panasonic 2.4 Ghz multi-line, multi-handset phone.I was getting lots of static from my Wi-Fi setup and all I read said that DECT would fix that.I replaced my system with this one and sure enough, the reception problems were gone!

Of course, I then learned that many other functions that were in the old phone were now gone.

*Ability to have two lines to have two different ring lengths for each line (2 vs 4) - GONE (Now both lines have to have the same # of rings - we used to have one 2/4 Tollsaver and the other 8 rings)

*Ability for one-click access to address book? - GONE

*Ability for one-click access to caller ID list - GONE

*Ability to have a headset plugged in and switch back & forth to speakerphone- GONE

*Blinking text to show you have an unread message - GONE*(*It does say 'new message', but doesn't blink.Since it usually ends up saying 'missed call' unless you clear out the Caller ID every day, its hard to tell the difference between 'new message' and 'missed call' at a distance, unlike the blinking that it used to have)

What have we gained, besides the better reception?

*Bluetooth that only works with base, not any handsets, and must be re-paired every time you turn on the bluetooth headset - FAIL

*Call screening on all handsets - all handsets now use speakerphone when caller leaves a message.I do like this.

That's all I can think of.I'm not disappointed enough to send it back, but I wish they hadn't removed so many features and just upgraded the network band only.

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Dark Grey Cordless Phone Review

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Dark Grey Cordless Phone with Answering MachineMy main discontent with this phone machine is that in order to erase a "missed call" you have to hit about 4 buttons, and I always have to look it up in the booklet.It should be much easier.
Also doesn't have the auto dial for the saved memory numbers.
I should have read about it more carefully.
However, as a phone, it works ok.

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Expandable Silver Digital Cordless Answering System Review

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Expandable Silver Digital Cordless Answering System - 3 Handset SystemHere is a list of items that I would have liked to have know about, or have had clarified, before buying this excellent phone:
- The base-station operates as a speakerphone.
- Each phone can operate as a speakerphone.
- Each phone also has a jack for a headset.
- Sound is very clear with no echo.
- Dial illuminates when touching a button.
- All controls (incl. the answering machine) are easy to use.
- The menu system is surprisingly easy to use.
- The transformer is not white, it's dark gray (better than black... IMHO).
- Each phone can be set not to ring at night between specified times.
- Spec says 5 hours talk time; or 11 days without charging.
- Batteries are two AAA NiMH cells (no silly little plug to fiddle with).
- Each phone has a clip (removable); if you like to move around doing things while using a headset.
- Two or more phones can participate in the same call.
- Vivaldi and a few other ring tones to choose from (not great, but fun).
- Each phone can call any other phone (intercom function).
- Quality seems very good (only had it a couple of weeks).
- Each handset's small orange light (see below) flashes if a message is waiting (saves checking the ans mach)
The only thing missing is having the number of calls displayed on the answering machine.Instead there's a button which illuminates if there are any calls to be heard.However, this turns out to be much less of an annoyance than I'd anticipated.A small orange light illuminates when a handset is in a charging stand (or in the base station).It's rather bright in a dark bedroom.Nice if you value having a night light, but we put a small piece of tape over it.Overall, a delightful phone!

Product Description:
DECT 6.0 (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) technology lets you move freely around your home with long range and amazingly clear sound. It also assures greater protection against eavesdropping for all your calls. Operating in the 1.9GHz frequency range, your phone will not conflict with other wireless devices such as computer routers, wireless keyboards, microwave ovens and other common household devices.Now you don't have to be holding the phone to see whose calling. Using text-to-speech technology, the caller ID information is announced between rings. Panasonic's KX-TG9300 series DECT phones also boast a talking alarm clock that will tell you when it's time for lunch, and a talking battery alert that politely tells you when your battery is low with a "please charge phone" reminder.

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Titanium Black Cordless Phone Review

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Titanium Black Cordless Phone with Answering MachineThis otherwise excellent product has 1 fatal design flaw for me, which you may or may not care about.Here is the flaw:when you connect a wired headset to the cordless handset, the sound volume is too weak even with the volume control set to maximum.I have tried using 3 different wired headsets with the same bad results.Panasonic tech support was not able to fix this problem despite my spending hours on the phone with them (using my land line!)By the way, my hearing is normal, and the wired headsets produce loud sound volume when used with my cell phones and desk phones.Speaking as an electrical engineer myself, this is a design flaw.Panasonic needs to boost the gain on the output jack used by the wired headsets.Until they do, I cannot recommend this product for use with a wired headset.Sadly, this is an excellent product in every other respect.

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Titanium Black Cordless Phone Review

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Titanium Black Cordless Phone with Answering MachineWe were knee deep in old phones in this house and had to find something else.Though we would opt for Panasonic this time.We have Vonage so it was imperative to find a phone system with extra handsets.This phone lives up to its expectations.DECT wins for clear coverage even at great distances (at the neighbors two doors down).The speakerphone is loud and clear.I have no need for the answering machine, as we have voicemail.The phone will call voicemail for you if your set it up with pauses in between, and most of the time it works.Sometimes Vonage does not pick up straight away, which then does not sync with my self-set pauses and dialing.But that is not fault with the phone at all.The menu is a little less straightforward than our previous 5 year old phone (ATT), but not so much that it is annoying.The receivers are small and light.The batteries are great.It politely tells you when it is time to charge, and charging is 7 hours or less.We had a conference call on speaker for 3 hours and the phone still had 2 of 3 battery bars left.We have had this phone in use in the house for about 5 months.

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Expandable Titanium Digital Cordless Answering System Review

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Expandable Titanium Digital Cordless Answering System - Dual Handset SystemI was searching for a new Panasonic phone for months.This phone has great features that I was looking for.I have read many reviews about different phones and thought I would point out all the positive things for anyone else who was having a difficult time choosing a phone.I've had Panasonic in the past and was really happy with the quality of it.I did try a cheap Uniden phone but ended up returning it.This Panasonic phone has a backlit key pad and is great for using in a dark room.The Call Block feature is awesome!When telemarketers call your phone, you can enter that number into your Call Block list and the call will not come through next time they call.The phone will ring once and then it recognizes that number from your list and gives the caller a busy signal.This is nice so you don't go running for the phone.Another great feature is the shared phonebook.All numbers entered in one phone, automatically updates the other phone as they are entered.Also, the numbers are displayed the way you enter them.So if you enter someones cell number into your phone book, their name and number will come up on the caller ID exactly how you entered it when they call.This also works while you are on a call, the screen lights up and tells you who is ringing through on the other line. The talking caller ID is nice, that way if you are not by your phone you can hear the machine or the handset tell you who is calling.Listening to messages...you can do it right from your handset if you are not next to the machine.You can delete and skip messages right from the handset.Overall, this phone had all the features I was looking for.My only complaint would be that I would like the handset to stay lit a little longer.Also the machine does not show you how many messages you have or if you have any old messages stored on there, you just have to listen to find out.Those two things aside, I feel this is a great phone and I am very happy with the quality...especially at the price.

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Metallic Gray Cordless/Corded Phone Review

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Metallic Gray Cordless/Corded Phone with Answering Machinemany years ago, when I bought my first cordless landline phone, I tried many brands including GE and Panasonic. Panasonic cordless phones might be more expensive and never seem to go on sale, but I have since then decided Panasonic will be the only cordless phone I will ever buy

I bought this model because the huge keypads on the main unit, and the capability to make phone calls during power outrage (99% cordless phones won't do this#.

The call quality is super good. I tried to use the phone right next to my wireless G #2.4GHz) router and laptop, no interference either way.

The built-in menu is very intuitive. The cordless unit screen is huge, and like most cordless models, the unit does not require phone line connection.

The phone looks very elegant, might be too much for where I put it (the kitchen).

If you had a less than perfect experience with cordless phones, try Panasonic. No other brands match the Panasonic quality. Do NOT save that $20-30 and go for cheaper brands or on sale products!! Only bad phones and phones that don't sell go on sale all the time! Not a Panasonic!!

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Answering System Review

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Answering System - 3 Handset SystemI bought this set to replace one 900 MHz and two 2.4 GHz phones that we've had for a while.Setup was really easy, you can pretty much figure out everything going through the different menus yourself.I was concerned about the call quality of the extra handsets since they don't use their own phone jack, but the performance is excellent.The 2.4 phone we used to have in the kitchen couldn't be used if the microwave was on, and it would knock computers off the wireless network once in a while.Now, absolutely no interference at all!The other 2.4 that was upstairs had terrible range, and always had a clicking sound I attributed to interference with the Xbox 360 2.4 GHz wireless.Once again, these new phones have absolutely no interference and great range.I wish now I got the 4 or even 5 handset package to stick one in the garage and other places in the house.

Likes:
- Voice quality when not set at the highest volume
- You can set the answering machine to answer after more than 4 rings, unlike many others who max out at 4 and you can never get to in time
- The talking caller id when used with a high answering machine ring setting (5 or 7) really helps stop running through the house to check who's calling when you don't really want to, or can't easily, stop what you're doing.
- The backlight on the handset screens is bright and makes the text really easy to read.

Dislikes:
- Slight hissing when ear piece volume is maxed.But med volume seems just fine and there's no hiss.
- The answering machine doesn't show a number of how many messages you have, it's just a flashing red light on the play button.
- After listening to the message(s) and not deleting them, the flashing light goes away but you have no other indication that there's a message.So if it's a message you want to save, for someone else to listen to for example, unless you remember or write it down somewhere, it's easy to forget about it.

Overall though, a great phone and a HUGE upgrade from our previous phones.Recommended.
